PC... Personal Computer? A net-cafe.

Anyway, I had off from last Wednesday through tomorrow, but I stayed in Seoul for a couple days to relax and go to a sweet water park before leaving.

I actually did get the Korean bang (although would not have known that's what it was), but still don't know what the PC part is . . .

also, hadn't you indicated, initially, that this was a two-week vacation. Where'd the extra week go?

Hello, Manue! I've had at least 1.8x fun on your behalf, I hope your new job is treating you well. Mom -- the other problem, in addition to poor placarding [bad enough, Koreans!] is a painfully frustrating absence of comfortable nooks, benches, or flat rocks in amenable positions upon which to sit. So while I have done some sketching, it turned out to be remarkably hard to do any better with the sketching of, say, the Golden Bodhisattva of Medicine than it was photographing it or simply staring for a while. And sorry, you must not have Korean script active on your computer, it says "PC-bang" with the latter part in Korean. 'Bang' means 'room', so you see it everywhere here. "Noraebang" - singing room, "Dabang" - coffee room, "Ojing-abang" - squid room (yes, really...), "DVDbang" - place to watch DVDs on comfy couches, etc. [The DVD-bangs are a great concept that have, for obvious and predictable reasons, been largely utilized by the Korean teenage population as sex retreats, but I've been told there's one by me that's really nice... *shrug*]

Hi Ben,
Glad to read that you're enjoying your vacations. (Don't forget the promise you made me to enjoy it twice as much for me, siting for 8 hours a day in front of a computer).
Thinking of you doing the "picture taking typical Asian tourist" is very funny knowing how much you usually like to take pictures.
Anyway, i hope it stoped raining by now and that you'll keep on having fun.
Take care

and did traveling with your mother teach you NOTHING? . . . Where is your sketchbook? (so you can spend a little longer actually seeing at least one of the otherwise somewhat indistinguishable buddhist temples . . .) I could have sworn you either posted earlier, or told me, that you actually had done some sketching in Seoul for exactly this purpose. GET THAT SKETCHBOOK OUT AGAIN! (and, I think, stay away from cool little hostels recommended by travelers -- it sounds like you have exactly the right take on those: Good places to pay too much for mediocre facilities, and to meet other foreigners.)
